Ikies is a special type of hotel. Its
small size, exceptional location, traditional design and
professional operation result in a rare blend of intimate and
personalized service offered around the clock against a
setting of unique physical beauty. The hotel’s traditional
architectural aesthetic is the fabric onto which the full
range of modern comforts and facilities have been
embroidered.
Located at the edge of the village of
Oia and with commanding views over it, our guests at ikies
quickly tune themselves into the complete tranquility of the
romantic village.
The hotel’s careful renovation during
2004 and 2005 has resulted in a cozy balance between
traditional architecture and modern facilities and amenities.
The houses at ikies are carved out of pumice into the cliffs
of the caldera and boast post-card perfect white-washed roofs,
yet each house is equipped with individually controlled
air-conditioning, direct-dial telephone lines, satellite TV,
and some of the houses even have private outdoor hot tubs. The
furniture is traditional and each house is decorated with
objects and artwork inspired by a local profession, yet the
plush mattresses, pillows and linen will inspire you to relax
and enjoy your romantic stay.

The Gardener's House is
our coziest room with a queen size bed, fully equipped
kitchenette, and bathroom fitted with a shower. The room's
balcony is located a few meters away from its entrance and
virtually hangs on the edge of the cliff offering uninterrupted
views of the caldera and village of Oia.
The house is equipped
with air conditioning, satellite TV and DVD player,
radio/CD/MP3 player, direct dial telephone, internet access,
hairdryer, and safe deposit box. We also offer bathrobes and

This superior studio has
one main room with a queen-size bed, a fully equipped
kitchenette, a coffe table and bookcase, and bathroom with a
shower. The verandah has uninterrupted views of the caldera
and the village of Oia. The sun can be seen setting into the
sea or behind the village.

The Artisan's House is
our largest superior studio with one main room with a
queen-size bed in the rear plus 2 traditional sofas which can
be turned into single beds. The fully equipped kitchenette has
a bar counter around it and the large vaulted bathroom is dug
into the rock. The terrace has a private temperature
controlled jacuzzi and an exterior use futon to lounge on. The
room can accommodate up to four [4] persons .
The

The Sailor's House is
located on the pool level and has a bedroom [queen size bed]
upstairs on the loft which looks down onto the living area.
The house can accommodate a third person on the ground floor
sofa which can be turned into a single bed for the night. The
balcony infront of the house where breakfast is served offers
views to the village of Oia and the sea below us.
The house is equipped

decorated maisonette is located on the pool level and has a
bedroom [queen size bed] upstairs on the loft which looks down

the corner of the secluded terrace with

The Winemaker's House is our honeymoon suite and
has the
most secluded terrace in the hotel with uninterrupted
views of the island. The private hot tub with its deck and the
exterior use futon offer endless hours of relaxation on the
verandah. The cave bedroom with the king size bed and ensuite
dressing area are located to the rear of the house. The living
area has two traditional sofas and dinning table, and a
separate kitchen area.

with its own exit to the pathway that leads into the village
of Oia. The large vaulted bedroom with a king-size bed is

next to the bathroom. The spacious terrace has a private hot
tub nestled in the corner for privacy and offers views to the
caldera and the village of Oia. This suite can accommodate up
to 4 persons.

The Collector's House is the
newest addition to IKIES Traditional Houses. This luxurious
villa offers two separate bedrooms each with its own generous
bathroom and ensuite dressing area, both carved deep into the
volcanic cliff. The spacious living and dinning area with its
characteristic domed ceiling opens out onto the unique terrace
with its combination of complete privacy and breathtaking
views of the caldera and the village of Oia.
The villa
also boasts its own private spa area perched on the edge of
the terrace overlooking the caldera. Our suggestion would be
to take a soothing steam bath followed by a refreshing cold
shower, then dip into the temperature controlled jacuzzi,
before finally moving over to the terrace futon - this is
probably the best way to relax and take in the sun and unique
view.
A champagne continental breakfast is served on
the privacy of your terrace each morning and cocktails of your
choice are offered at sunset. The house is equipped with air
conditioning, satellite TV and DVD player, radio/CD/MP3
player, direct dial telephone, personal computer with internet
access, hairdryer, stocked minibar, a collection of books, and
safe deposit boxes. We also offer bathrobes and slippers, and
